A living sculpture
Marija Milicevic is a visionary artist working across performance, fine art photography, and film. Her practice engages myth, archetype, and the body as sites of transformation. Drawing from classical symbolism and historical references, she creates contemporary works that explore power, desire, femininity, and transformation.
A central thread in her work is the concept of cosmic love, inspired by the myth of Eros and Psyche understood not as romance, but as a transformative union of desire and soul. Through this lens, she examines intimacy as initiation and relationship as a force of evolution.
Through site-specific performance and constructed imagery, she develops what she calls living sculptures: embodied compositions shaped by architecture, atmosphere, and gesture.
Her projects often unfold within historically charged spaces, where she responds directly to the memory and structure of the site. Collaborating with haute couture designers, filmmakers, photographers and historic spaces, she creates refined visual worlds that move between ritual and art.
